Recordings
The Recordings page collects all audio recordings captured during appointments.
What you can do
- Browse recordings - View all recordings with their associated appointment details
- Play back - Listen to a recording directly in the browser
- Review AI transcripts - Read the diarized transcript generated from the recording audio
- Refine the transcript - Provide speaker context to improve diarization and speaker naming
- Refine the summary - Regenerate the meeting summary based on the latest transcript, with custom instructions such as a simpler recap or a key-points-focused version
- Track processing states - See whether the audio is still uploading, transcribing, or ready for review
- Delete - Remove recordings you no longer need
Recordings are created from the Calendar page by starting a recording during an appointment, or from the menu bar icon in the desktop app. This page provides a centralized view of all past recordings.
Using the desktop app? You can capture system audio (meeting calls, presentations) in addition to your microphone, start recordings directly from the menu bar, and reduce speaker feedback in the microphone track when system audio is available.
Long recordings are processed in multiple 10-minute chunks before the final transcript is assembled. This helps keep diarization complete and reduces the risk of truncated AI output on longer files.
If a desktop recording shows Waiting for audio upload, the file is still saved locally on that device. Bob Studio uploads it automatically when the app is available again, then starts transcription as soon as the upload is confirmed.
